TUXIZ in SEATTLITE Magazine
FALL THREADS: TUXIZ TEES FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT
From baseball to fashion, this local brand has all the bases covered.
When it comes to favorite clothing items, nothing beats that perfect t-shirt. You know, the lived-in, soft as can be, comfortable, classic and quirky tee that you just couldn’t live without. Everyone has one — and if you’re a fan of Tuxiz, you probably have quite a few.
Tuxiz was started by three friends and fellow Seattleites who wanted to create clothes to wear out, whatever the next event might be — essentially, shirts that could easily make the transition from day to night and vice versa.
“Our tag line is ‘get fitted for the next event,’ so it is a play on tuxes,” explained co-founder Ben Johnson. “We try to design shirts you can wear to a sports game but also out to a nice dinner.”
Johnson has played professional baseball with the Los Angeles Angels and Milwaukee Brewers for the last seven years. Upon returning home to Seattle, he re-enrolled at the University of Washington and began to consider a foray into the fashion industry

Nike Mag | Back to the Future shoes
Twenty-two years ago a film about time travel gave us a glimpse of the now not-too-distant future. The 1989 Back to the Future sequel looked forward to 2015, capturing the imaginations of kids like us who dreamed of one day riding their own hover board in self-lacing sneakers like Marty McFly. Those sneakers, a concept created by Nike's own design head Tinker Hatfield alongside the film's production team, went on to provided fodder for millions of clicks worth of Internet speculation, a petition and even DIY mock-ups. Today, this past vision of the future becomes a reality as Nike launches the Mag. Continuing to push the boundaries of limited editions, auctions and charity, 1500 pairs of the shoes will be available by auction only with the potential to raise $100 million for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research through a matching donation by Google's Sergey Brin.
Nearly identical to the ones Fox work in the film, the shoes even include the LED panel in the sole and electroluminescent logo in the strap. Today's version has a small internal battery hidden in each featherweight shoe. The glowing features last up to five hours per charge and the plug port neatly tucks away under the cuff.
Unfortunately, despite Nike filing the Automatic Lacing System patent back in 2009, the power laces detail from the film shoes didn't make it to the production model. Given that feature shows a poetic respect for the needs of people suffering from the limited muscle control Parkinson's Disease inflicts, Hatfield simply commented, "It's not 2015 yet," alluding to a future refresh of the Mag.
Back to the Future fans, sneaker-heads and philanthropists are invited to bid on the Mags in a series of one-day auctions that starts tonight at 11:30pm EST at nikemag.ebay.com and will run until 18 September 2011. To box out the typical reselling bonanza and ensure maximum dollars are contributed to to the cause, no pairs of shoes will be shipped until all 1500 pairs are sold. All proceeds will go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation and will be matched by Sergey Brin.

Peyton Hillis on Madden Cover
ESPN.com users have spoken and the face of Madden NFL 12 will be Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis.
Hillis was announced Wednesday as the winner of the fan vote, under way since March 21, on ESPN2’s “SportsNation.” In all, 13 million votes were cast during the process.
The 10th-seeded Hillis overwhelmingly defeated Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, seeded third, garnering 66 percent of the vote in the final of the 32-player bracket and will be on the cover of this year’s version of the popular NFL video game franchise. This is the first year that fans were allowed to vote for the game’s cover.
After he was named the winner, Hillis said he was "excited" and that he didn't think he had a shot against Vick who he has "always looked up to."

Bulls Derrick Rose listed as questionable
Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, who is dealing with a sprained left ankle, said he is "definitely" playing in Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
The Bulls have listed Rose as questionable for Tuesday, but he appears more confident. Asked Monday if he will play, Rose said: "More than likely, yeah. It's not broke so I'm definitely playing."
Rose underwent an MRI on Sunday, which showed a sprained left ankle. Rose didn't practice Monday, but coach Tom Thibodeau is optimistic Rose will play and said the swelling is down. He'll receive a pain-killing injection before Game 5.

Derrick Rose helps Bulls storm back in 4th to best Pacers
Never mind what everyone else was thinking, Derrick Rose insisted he didn't expect the Chicago Bulls to roll over the Indiana Pacers.
They certainly didn't in Game 1.
Rose scored 39 points and found Kyle Korver for a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 48 seconds left, helping top-seeded Chicago stage a late rally to beat the Pacers 104-99 in their playoff opener on Saturday.
"We knew it was going to be a hard game," Rose said. "From the beginning I guess we weren't prepared for it. Next time I think we'll be ready."
For the Pacers, the loss was tough to accept. They controlled most of the game, but couldn't put it away.
They'd make little runs, Chicago would come back, and the Pacers would pull ahead again. With Rose staring at them, Danny Granger never felt safe.

Last College Basketball Saturday Until MARCH MADNESS
No. 4 Duke (27-3) at No. 13 North Carolina (23-6)
When and where: Saturday (CBS, 8 p.m. ET), Dean E. Smith Center (Chapel Hill, N.C.)
Overview: This is what this rivalry is supposed to be about. There is a championship on the line and the winner will wear the ACC crown. Both teams have steadily improved over the course of the season, with North Carolina maturing into a national contender and Duke overcoming the loss of Kyrie Irving to solidify itself as a candidate for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. This has the chance to be the most compelling game of the season.
